How Are “Cookies” Used on the EWF Sites?

Like most businesses, we employ “cookies” on the EWF Sites. When you first access the EWF Sites, you will receive a message advising you that cookies are in use. By accepting the message and continuing to browse, you signify that you understand and agree to the use of these cookies.

You do not have to accept cookies and consent can be withdrawn at any time. You can change your browser settings to refuse or restrict cookies, and you may delete cookies after they have been placed on your device at any time. If you do not accept or delete our cookies, some areas of the EWF Sites may not function properly.

Cookies Definition

Cookies are small files containing a string of characters that we may store on your computer or mobile device when you visit a EWF Website. When you visit the EWF Website again, the cookies allow us to recognize your browser. Cookies may store your preferences and other information but cannot read data off your hard drive or read cookie files created by other sites.

Cookies set by a website owner (in this case, EWF) are called “first-party cookies”. Cookies set by parties other than the website owner are called “third-party cookies”. Third-party cookies enable us to provide third-party features or functionality through the EWF Sites (e.g., social media functions and analytics).

Cookies the EWF Uses

The information that we collect with cookies allows us to statistically analyze usage of the EWF Sites and improve our content and other offerings. The specific types of first-party and third-party cookies placed on the EWF Sites and the purposes they perform are described below.

  • Necessary Cookies: These are cookies that are required for the operation of the EWF Sites. They include, for example, cookies that enable you to log into members-only areas of our websites and register for events.
  • Analytic, Performance, and Personalization Cookies: These cookies collect information about how users access and move through the EWF Sites. We use this information in either aggregate form to help us to improve the way the EWF Sites work or to personalize EWF content to your interests.
  • Social Media/Advertising Cookies: These cookies allow us to integrate social media functions into the EWF Sites and may also be used for advertising purposes.

Do Not Track

Your browser may offer you a “Do Not Track” (DNT) option, which allows you to signal to operators of websites and web applications and services (including behavioral advertising services) that you do not wish such operators to track certain of your online activities over time and across different websites and platforms. There is no universally agreed-upon standard for what an organization should do when it detects a DNT signal. Currently, we do not monitor or take any action with respect to these signals or other mechanisms. Learn more.
