Our Journey

It began in 2002 with a simple napkin and a bold vision. Joyce Brocaglia wrote down the names of leaders she admired in infosec, sparking the creation of the Executive Women’s Forum (EWF), founded to engage, develop, and transform leaders while fostering inclusion. Today, the EWF is a global community committed to its mission, connecting leaders and allies who drive meaningful change and deliver impact for individuals, teams, and organizations worldwide. 

Building a Community

In 2003, EWF held its first national conference—a groundbreaking gathering where senior leaders in cybersecurity, risk, and privacy found a space to connect and lead together. Soon after, the Women of Influence Awards celebrated pioneering women shaping the industry, and the first scholarship program invested in future leaders.

Growing with Purpose

As EWF expanded, so did its support systems. Mentorship programs, leadership development, regional meetings, and a Board of Advisors created a strong foundation to lift women at every stage. Male allies became vital champions and ambassadors, joining regional meetings and advancing the mission alongside women leaders. 

The Leadership Academy Empowering the Next Generation

A defining moment came with the launch of the EWF Leadership Academy—a transformative program designed to accelerate leadership skills, foster inclusion, and create lasting impact. This academy quickly became the cornerstone of EWF’s commitment to developing confident, strategic leaders prepared to shape the future of the industry. 

Expanding Reach and Impact

EWF extended its influence globally with events in India and launched specialized forums and programs tailored to leaders at every level. From immersive training to strategic networking, EWF continues to evolve, empowering women and allies to lead with purpose. 

A Transformative Partnership

In 2022, EWF joined forces with DSG Global, a leading executive search and consulting firm with deep expertise in talent strategy and leadership development. This partnership has been a catalyst, significantly accelerating EWF’s growth, expanding its global footprint, and amplifying its ability to provide innovative resources that equip diverse leaders to thrive in complex environments. 

Looking Forward

Building on two decades of impact, EWF is investing in cutting-edge technology and further expanding its global presence by launching exclusive one-day CISO programs in Brussels and London, opening new doors into the European market. At the same time, EWF continues to grow the Leadership Academy, offering robust in-house development programs that empower teams across industries to grow, thrive, and lead with confidence into the future.
