Global Lead - Financial Services, Customer Security Management Office – Office of the CISO
As the Global Industry Lead for Financial Services within the Office of the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at one of the world’s foremost technology companies, Lisa Lee plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of cybersecurity across the financial sector. Operating within the Customer Security Management Office (CSMO), she leads strategic engagements with global customers and partners to advance collaborative threat intelligence, joint threat hunting, adversary disruption, and the exchange of cybersecurity best practices.
Lisa is a recognized thought leader and trusted advisor to global financial institutions and regulators. She represents Microsoft in high-level discussions on critical topics such as cybersecurity governance, the secure use of artificial intelligence, post-quantum cryptography, and operational resilience. Her work bridges the gap between innovation and regulation, helping to align emerging technologies with evolving security standards.
Before joining the CSMO, Lisa led the Strategy, Signal, Industry, and Research team within Microsoft’s Security Business Development organization. There, she focused on identifying transformative technologies and “moonshot” innovations that could redefine the cybersecurity landscape. She originally joined Microsoft as the Global Chief Security Advisor for Financial Services, where she provided strategic counsel to CISOs and executive leadership teams worldwide.
Lisa’s career began in public service, where she served as a bank regulator across three U.S. federal banking agencies. She contributed to the development of interagency regulatory guidance and risk assessment frameworks, and held the rare distinction of serving as both a Financial Examiner and an IT Examiner.
A passionate advocate for diversity and mentorship, Lisa founded several mentoring, networking, and educational initiatives through the Executive Women’s Forum (EWF), where she also serves on the Board of Advisors. Her contributions to the field have been recognized by CSO Magazine, which named her a Woman of Influence, and by Sigma Delta Tau, which honored her as one of 100 Empowering Women.
A frequent keynote speaker, Lisa has addressed audiences at RSA, Sibos, the National Technology Security Coalition, and numerous ISACs and federal agencies. Beyond her professional achievements, she is also a semi-professional photographer, capturing the world through a creative lens that mirrors her visionary approach to cybersecurity.
